Remember quality, not quantity when working
with your abdominals. I see so many people do
1000 crunches in six minutes and think that
their mid-section will shrink. Doing that
many repetitions will not allow your muscle
fibers to recruit and maximize contraction.
Train the abdominals like every other muscle.
I prescribe about 15 to 20 repetitions of
each exercise executed in the abdominal
region. Training your abs for long distance
repetitions will increase muscular endurance,
but in order to see your abdominals through
muscular development you must do shorter and
more intense repetitions.
