Get Up and Jump into Shape
Dear Anthony,

Do you remember the last time you jumped rope? If it was when you were still trying to tie your shoes, it's time to get with the program and improve your notion of jumping rope. We jump as children for fun and now it is time to jump for fitness. In fact, you could soon find yourself burning up to 1,000 calories per hour while at the same time firming your arms and legs. In addition, jump roping is so convenient that once you learn, you can fit in a workout almost anytime and anywhere.

10 MIN OF ROPE JUMPING AT 100 TURNS/MIN. PRODUCES THE SAME CARDIOVASCULAR FITNESS AS

Cycling for 1.5 miles/ Running 1 mile in 10min/ Swimming for 12 min

Thirty minutes of skipping rope are as good for your heart and weight loss efforts as running a couple of miles. One hour of this exercise will rid you of 1,200 calories, which is great considering it only requires a rope and some free time.




Skipping rope produces superior advantages in speed, quickness, agility, balance, coordination, explosiveness, leg and foot strength.

What I like to do is called the :Alternate Foot Step The Superior Training Routine 1. 100 Alternate Foot Step (count right foot 50 times). 2. 30 - 60 sec. rest 3. Repeat for 3 sets. -Try to jump fast without catches of the rope or at 100 - 150 RPM = 75% - 85% of maximum heart rate -2 - 3 times per week Do this and watch the fat melt away!!!!

Here are some rules to follow when jumping rope: 1.use a floor surface that has limited friction. 2. The length of the rope - when you step on the middle, the end sections of the rope should reach the middle of the chest. 3. Lift feet off floor just high enough for the rope to pass quickly. 4. Land soft and try not to jump too high. 5. Shoulders should be relaxed and turn the rope with wrists.
