Superior Abdominal Tip by Tony Thomas
Dear Anthony,

We all love to discover new ways to make those abdominal muscles show. But before I show you my exercise tips, I want everyone to get this one point clear, "proper eating and cardio is essential if you want to get lean abdominals". There is absolutely no way around it!

If you have excess bodyfat in your midsection, chances are you wont see your abs from doing millions of crunches. You will in fact have muscle development from those exercises, but to actually see that development cardio and diet must be implemented strategically in your workout. Remember, these exercise tips will build muscle but cardio burns fat. You should do cardio for at least 45 minutes 3 times per week.

Superior Abdominal Tip #3: 4 point tummy vacuum
Do you know how important the transverse abdominis is? Working this muscle will do more to flatten your abs than working any other muscle in the abdominal region. Hard to believe right, but it is true. Training this muscle can also better cardiovascular endurance, reduce the incidence of low back pain, even help stop certain leg injuries. I like to do the 4 point tummy vacuum to work this muscle. This exercise utilizes the transversus abdominis, the deepest and most important of the abdominal muscles; this is the ab muscle that our lower back really appreciates.

Start on your hands and knees with your back as straight as possible. smoothly tighten your abdominal muscles to draw your belly button in towards your spine; hold for 10 seconds and relax for 10 seconds. Make sure that your spine stays still throughout the exercise. Do 10 -15 reps Try not to drop the spine during the rest period and to overly round the spine during active periods of this exercise.
